On 28 April 2026, the Innovation Days were held at Confindustria Brescia, organised by IlSole24ore. Our CEO Andrea Bricchi, interviewed by Erminio Bissolotti, spoke about SMEs, Energy and Railways, highlighting how Europe is losing its central role on the global stage, caught between the interests of the United States and China. The risk? Losing our true strength: the ability to be competitive thanks to intelligence, flexibility and innovation.
One of the central themes is energy. Italy will have to look to nuclear power to secure its independence, but even today it can do much better in terms of usage and efficiency. Tools such as energy communities represent concrete opportunities, which are often still under-exploited.
In this context, the role of SMEs is also evolving. We need to enter international supply chains, bringing distinctive skills that are of interest to stakeholders. It is not the biggest that wins, but the one that becomes indispensable.
