Nuclear -Idealex
In the global energy debate, nuclear power is returning to centre stage. Not only as a low-emission source, but as a complex industrial ecosystem in which safety, operational efficiency and innovation must coexist.
Brian and partners has recently entered into a strategic partnership with IDEALEX, a company specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of advanced radiation protection solutions for the nuclear sector, with the aim of reducing the risks associated with ionising radiation and contamination.
Thanks to this synergy, we are able to offer mobile and fixed shielding systems for operator protection, tools for remote handling in contaminated environments, solutions for secure communication during operations, and waste management technologies, including extraction, filtration and volume reduction systems.
The collaboration also enables us to integrate components for confined spaces and glove boxes, systems for the safe transfer of contaminated materials, and fully customised solutions, developed to meet the specific needs of the client.
This approach strengthens our ability to support clients throughout all stages of the project, ensuring high standards of safety, operational efficiency and cost optimisation.
Radiation protection equipment
IDEALEX is a company specialising in bespoke radiation protection solutions for the nuclear sector, both nationally and internationally. Its aim is to protect workers and facilities from exposure to ionising radiation and contamination. Workers operating in high-risk environments must be effectively protected from the effects of radiation.
The DODIX system
The DODIX (Double Door IdealeX) system from IDEALEX is a completely innovative transfer system, conceived, developed and patented by IDEALEX in 2011. It enables a sealed transfer without compromising containment and without transferring contaminants from the inside to the outside or vice versa within a glove box or a clean-out chamber.
Vacuum-based waste management
When managing contaminated or radioactive waste, extraction and filtration play a vital role. At remediation and decommissioning sites, IDEALEX implements efficient waste extraction solutions, separating the functions of the extraction system and ensuring that only the collected waste is processed through the appropriate channels. The challenges associated with the extraction of radioactive waste are numerous and require a specialised and safe approach.
VOKKERO NRG communication system
Requiring no fixed installation, the VOKKERO standalone intercom system enables you to quickly establish secure, continuous, hands-free communication between all team members throughout the entire operation.
At Brian and partners, we see every day that the real leap forward is not just about energy production, but about the way people interact with highly complex, technology-driven environments.
And we do this using tools that enable us to take concrete action on key aspects such as radiation protection, contamination management and operational optimisation. But there is one area that we consider particularly strategic and still largely unexplored: sound systems and communication in nuclear environments.
Our expertise has developed around VoIP-based public address systems. These systems are capable of capturing audio signals from various sources and distributing them to the different areas served, ensuring message clarity and consistent sound quality.
They are configured as modular solutions comprising control units, VoIP amplifiers, zone panels and an audio matrix, equipped with dynamic adjustment based on ambient noise via a microphone probe and QAP technology.
These systems also support the IEC and IAP protocols, adopted within the RFI sector for the automated management of audio announcements.
- When we talk about sound systems, we mean:
- clearer and more effective communication in critical situations
- reduction in operational errors
- better coordination between staff, even when working remotely
- greater overall process reliability
